In my house growing up I do not remember celebrating christmad; "Creolefully" ☺️ we celebrated kwanzaa and I loved it because in my opinion kwanzaa is the cure for the disease of ungratefulness lol because it is a time of learning, family and CELEBRATIONNNNN!

We'd eat and honor our ancestors. Thanking them for all they did for us and endured for us, we'd pwrform rituals to reaffirm our bonds with our ancestors, celebrate our culture. With each passing day we brought love and life into each of the principles. I mostly remember the activities,ha ha ha ha. Here is my story.

A young girl named Dawnn was eagerly anticipating the start of Kwanzaa. She had heard her parents talk about this special celebration, and she couldn't wait to learn more about it.

As the first day of Kwanzaa arrived, Dawnn's family gathered around the kinara, a beautiful candleholder with seven candles. Her parents explained to her that each candle represented a different principle, like unity, creativity, and faith.

Dawnn was amazed by the rich and meaningful traditions of Kwanzaa. She loved helping her family light a new candle each night and discussing the importance of the principles they represented.

Throughout the week, Dawnn and her family enjoyed delicious meals, vibrant music, and heartfelt conversations. They also spent time reflecting on their heritage and the contributions of African culture to the world.

By the end of Kwanzaa, Dawnn felt a deep sense of pride and connection to her roots. She knew that this celebration had brought her family closer together and helped her appreciate the beauty of her heritage.

From that day on, Dawnn knew that Kwanzaa would always hold a special place in her heart. It inspired her to embrace her culture and share its traditions with others, spreading joy and unity wherever she went.

Every day out of kwanzaa has a different principle Unity, Self Determination, Responsibility Economics, Purpose, Creativity and Faith.
